Dr. Eirit Yonatan, O.D
 
Dr. Yonatan, a long-term resident of Chicago’s northern suburbs, is the president of The Eye Site. One of the most highly respected and well-liked optometrists in the North suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Yonatan received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University and completed her optometric training at the Illinois College of Optometry. Her clinical rotations have included work at the Illinois Eye Institute, Sydney Hillman Health Center and the North Chicago Veteran’s administration. Prior to joining The Eye Site, Dr. Yonatan worked with Chicago Cornea Consultants, one of the Midwest’s leading surgical vision correction practices.
 
Over the course of her career, Dr. Yonatan has worked actively in the community including performing vision screenings for local elementary school children, educating children on eye care as part of the “VSP Doctor in the Classroom” program, lecturing area residents through local organizations including The Mount Prospect Public Library, and conducting hands-on-clinics such as one in coordination with The Chicago Cubs, VSP and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to help develop better hand eye coordination to improve sports vision.
 
Dr. Yonatan has worked extensively with patients requiring specialty contact lens fittings including patients with various corneal diseases (e.g. keratoconus, Pellucid marginal degeneration and various other corneal scars), patients that have undergone corneal transplants, and patients that have had cataract surgeries and refractive surgeries. In addition, she has obtained extensive experience in emergency eye care, worked with patients requiring care for Glaucoma and other ocular and retinal diseases, and has received training in Pediatrics with a focus on binocular vision and low vision.
 
A member of both the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, and a participating doctor in Surgicaleyes.com, Dr. Yonatan was originally born in Tel Aviv, Israel. She spent much of her childhood in Melbourne, Australia, before moving with her family to the Chicago area in her teens.
 
Dr. Melvin Hoffman, O.D.
 
Dr. Melvin Hoffman, O.D.Dr. Hoffman, a Chicago area native who originally founded The Eye Site over fifteen years ago, has been practicing optometry in and around the Chicago area for approximately thirty years. Over the course of his career, he has obtained significant experience in contact lens, cataract and refractive surgery co-management. A charter member of the International Orthokeratology Society, and a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the National Eye Research Foundation, the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, Dr. Hoffman received his bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois and completed his optometric training at the Illinois College of Optometry.
 
Dr. Nimisa Patel, O.D.
 
Dr. Nimisa Patel, O.D.Dr. Nimisa Patel, a long-time resident of Mount Prospect, joined The Eye Site of Illinois in July of 2007. A member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Illinois Optometric Association, Dr. Patel completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, Champaign - Urbana with a major in Economics with a minor in Chemistry and completed her optometric training at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr. Patel’s primary areas of interest within the Optometry field include contact lenses, pediatrics, and vision therapy.
 
Dr. Peggy Gramates, M.D.
 
Dr. Peggy Gramates, M.D.Peggy Gramates MD is a board certified surgical ophthalmologist and is board certified in Internal Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude from Washington University and received her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. After completing her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she trained in Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary. Before completing her cornea fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Gramates was in private practice for several years. She is currently a medical staff member at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois and has authored or co-authored several publications in professional journals. In addition she has traveled internationally to Mexico on medical mission trips where she has performed cataract surgery. In her spare time, Dr. Gramates enjoys playing the violin in the Northwest Symphony Orchestra.
 
Cris Gennett
 
Cris GennettCris Gennett has been involved with The Eye Site since it originally began operations at its current location over fifteen years ago. As the Office Manager for the practice, she is a central figure in much of the invisible, but vitally important day-to-day operations of the company, and is the direct point of contact for all scheduling of appointments with the doctors. Prior to joining The Eye Site, Ms. Gennett worked in a Dental Practice in California.
 
Patricia Chirello
 
Patricia ChirelloAs the Operations Manager for The Eye Site, Pat is in charge of all medical billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable. With her strong background in human resources management and accounting, Pat has been instrumental in many of the daily business operations and ongoing growth of the practice since joining the Eye Site in 2005. Pat attended Harper College and DePaul University.
 
Kathy Peters
 
Kathy PetersAs the head optician at The Eye Site, Kathy is responsible for the eyewear department of the practice. With an extensive background of over ten years in the Optical Field, Kathy’s experience and “eye” for design, lends a critical element in the proper selection and fitting of eyewear. Whether patients are looking for the latest in designer glasses or simply looking for the best value and quality, Kathy acts as an invaluable resource.
 
Mary Reinemann
 
Mary ReinemannIn addition to attending Prospect High School and being involved with the varsity cheerleading squad, Mary works on a part-time basis at The Eye Site handling everything from general office responsibilities to measurements for glasses. Especially skillful in interacting with patients, Mary’s welcoming smile make visitors to The Eye Site feel at home immediately.
